Celebrate Papua New Guinea Tok Pisin Language Week 2026 in Palmerston North from 6–12 September 2026.

This year’s theme is:

“Lukautim, Strongim, Na Kirapim Tokples Na Pasin Blo Tubuna”

The week will celebrate Tok Pisin language, Papua New Guinea culture and community through a range of free events, including the official opening, shared kai and sports, bilum and weaving, music, school visits and the closing celebration.

Programme highlights include:

• Sunday 6 September: Opening of Papua New Guinea Language Week – YMCA Palmerston North
• Wednesday 9 September: Bilum and Weaving Evening – Palmerston North City Library
• Thursday 10 September: Papua New Guinea Musical Afternoon – Palmerston North City Library
• Friday 11 September: School Visits – various Palmerston North schools
• Saturday 12 September: Closing of Papua New Guinea Language Week – YMCA Palmerston North
