Our Core Objectives

To be a space for Wantoks (families/whanaus) in Papaioea Palmerston North to connect and involve in socially inclusive activities
- To maintain, advance and celebrate our PNG’s diverse cultural and spiritual values
- To foster a positive relationship with Tangata Whenua (iwis and hapus) and show goodwill with all other ethnic groups within Papaioea Palmerston North
- To do all things necessary for the advancement of Papua New Guineans in education, health, economic development and wellbeing

- Collaboration (wok bung wantaim): exploring synergies (panim strong insait long wok bung) and facilitating active engagement and ownership by our PNG’s families/whanau
- Transparency, accountability and open to the broader PNG Communities and key stakeholders including Palmerston North City Council (PNCC), Ministry of Pacific People (MPP), Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) and other partners in serving our Palmerston North Papaioea Communities (wokim wok lo stretpla pasin)
- Diversity (pasin blong bugim narapla) : value diversity and equality among our wantoks and other ethnic groups, including Tangata Whenua ( iwis and hapus) recognising and valuing Tangata Whenua in Aotearoa New Zealand and honouring the principles of Te Tiri o Waitangi, and (Pasin blong respectim papagraun);
- Positive Change (Gudpla rot lo senism pasin): creating opportunities for wantoks in Aotearoa/New Zealand

A passionate volunteer serving our Papaioea Palmerston North PNG Community Trust. I enjoyed supporting people with disabilities, being a patron to our PNG students, mentoring teenagers at our local SDA Church, and serving as one of our Pacific Working Group representatives at Palmerston North City Council and Board of Trustee for Palmerston North Pasifika Community Trust (PPCT). I have the pleasure of serving our wantoks/families/whanau from PNG, the Solomon Island, Vanuatu and the West Papuan students and residents in Papaioea Palmerston North, New Zealand.

Hickson Lome
Vice Chairperson/ Community Leader of Palmerston North Papua New Guinea Trust
I'm a Missionary, Gospel Preacher and Youth worker. I have traveled to over 20 countries in the world preaching, teaching, working with troubled teens and feeding the orphans. I have seen positive results in most troubled youths, seen lives transformed to the glory of God.
I'm passionate about what I do and will continue to influence and impact others with the Love of God here in Palmerston North Community and abroad. Currently I run my own plastering business (Kumul Plastering Ltd) in the Manawatu region.
I'm happily married to Sina with 4 beautiful sons. We attended Legacy Church here in Palmerston North. I'm part of the leadership and lead prayer ministries every Sunday and home group Bible studies every Wednesday.
It is an honor for me to serve as a Vice Chairperson of Palmerston North Papua New Guinea Community Trust (PNPNGCT). I will continue to provide and support our community members where necessary. Do not hesitate to contact me for a chat, cuppa, prayer, counseling, encouragements or any other issues.

A secondary school teacher by profession having taught in secondary schools in Papua New Guinea, American Samoa and currently in New Zealand. I love what I do, to keep inspiring and positively influencing our young people and the next generation of leaders. If there is one thing, I am a strong believer in; is “Education”. Education is the tool that breaks down any barriers in society. Residing in the Tararua area and representing our Palmerston North Papua New Guinea Community. I am privileged to serve and provide the necessary support for our Wantoks, families and friends.
